Version 2 Gearbox

The version 2 AEG gearbox is the most widely used gearbox. This is true primarily because the most popular gun styles use it, such as the M4, M16, and most MP5s. This also means it is the most supported gearbox by aftermarket airsoft part manufacturers. I have a list below of the different parts that are version 2 specific.

Some of guns that use the version 2 gearbox include: M4 and M16 variants, most MP5s, Scars, and 416 AEGs.

When purchasing parts, only buy ones that specifically mention they are for version 2 gearboxes, unless the part is specific to your guns style, such as air nozzles. Unlike some gearbox versions where you have to figure out if a particular part will work with your gearbox, the part description will specifically say it works with version 2 AEG gearboxes.
